Renowned actor Faisal Qureshi is set to play the lead role in the upcoming Punjabi film "Mango Jatt,” scheduled for release on Eid-ul-Fitr next year. Director Abu Aliha, in an interview with Geo Digital, revealed that the film is a complete action comedy, featuring a cast of prominent actors from both Punjab and Karachi. "Mango Jatt” is poised to be the first Punjabi comedy film targeting a diverse audience, including children, teenagers, and families, providing complete entertainment.
While "Mango Jatt” marks Faisal Qureshi’s debut in Punjabi cinema, talks are underway with three major heroines for key roles in the film’s cast. The director, Abu Aliha, mentioned that the names of the lead heroine and the remaining cast members will be announced soon.
Abu Aliha, recognized for his work, notably won the International Award for Best Director at the UK Asian Film Festival for the film "Javed Iqbal.” With an impressive filmography, including titles like "Kataksha,” "Shinogai,” "Teor,” "Adham Patakh,” "Shot Cut,” "Dadal Javed Iqbal,” and "Super Punjabi,” he has three upcoming releases: "Once Upon a Time in Karachi,” "Lockdown,” and "Taksali Gate.”
The shooting for "Mango Jatt” is scheduled to commence in January next year, covering various locations such as Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, and Nithia Gali. The film is anticipated to bring a blend of action and comedy to captivate audiences during the festive season of Eid-ul-Fitr.
