Country witnesses 0.07pc inflation in week, 12.28pc in year

The Bureau of Statistics on Friday released the latest figures of inflation for Pakistan.

According to the report, the country has seen a 0.07 per cent inflation in the past week.

On the other hand, Pakistan has experienced overall inflation of 12.28 per cent in the current year.

Of 19 commodities being monitored only nine remained stable this week. According to the report, there was an increase of Rs 6.41 in per kg tomato prices and a whooping Rs17.34 in the per kg price of garlic.

Prices of onions saw a Rs1.94 increase per kg and the price of sugar rose Rs2.55 per kg. The per dozen price of eggs rose Rs2.54 this week and the cost of live chicken was increased Rs28.92 per kg. The price of LPG cylinders also saw an increase.

The prices of firewood, dal masoor, dal moong, dal maash and flour all saw a decrease this year.
