Police force in the port city have formed a Skating Force to patrol across alleys and narrow streets across Karachi where police vehicles can’t go.
The team at this level comprises 20 weapon-wielding personnel both men and women.
Special Investigations Unit Commandant Dr Farrukh Ali Lanjhar is hopeful that the force will help curb street crimes.
“Foot patrolling is an extremely tedious job. Roller skates will give an edge to chase and apprehend [suspects].”
