A renewed cold wave has swept through Karachi, with cold winds prevailing since last night. The city is experiencing a drop in temperatures, creating chilly conditions, but the meteorological department indicates no likelihood of rain.
The Meteorological Department attributes the increased cold intensity to north-easterly winds. The current temperature in the city has been recorded at 14 degrees Celsius, with the humidity level at 77%.
Despite the cold weather, there is no forecast of rain in Karachi. However, the department notes limited visibility of around 3 km due to light fog in the city.
In contrast, northern regions of the country, including Skardu, are expected to face freezing winds, with temperatures potentially dropping to minus seven degrees. The Meteorological Department’s predictions include cold and dry weather in various parts of the country, such as Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. Additionally, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are anticipated to experience cold and partially cloudy conditions. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the prevailing cold weather.
