Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir, issued directives to K Electric during a meeting with civic agencies, emphasizing the need for load-shedding-free pumping stations. The chief minister expressed dissatisfaction with K Electric’s response, revealing that a bill of 90 million rupees was submitted when tasked with ensuring load-shedding-free pumping stations.
In response to this billing issue, Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir directed K Electric and the Water Board to collaboratively address the problem. He sternly conveyed that he will not tolerate any negligence from K Electric and the Water Board.
Furthermore, the caretaker chief minister took action against absent town municipal officers of Baldia and Maripur, suspending them from their positions. He highlighted the importance of officers actively engaging in problem-solving within their respective areas to address citizens’ concerns.
The meeting also discussed delays in the BRT Red Line project, attributing the setback to the lack of approval from ECNIC. Expressing frustration, Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqir instructed officials to liaise with the federal government for project approval. He specifically mentioned the road blockade from University Road to Model Colony due to the Red Line project, emphasizing the hardships faced by the millions residing in the area and describing the situation as cruel.
