First electric bus to be inaugurated in Karachi tomorrow

Tomorrow, the first electric bus route in Karachi will be officially opened by Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. It will begin at Sea View’s Clifton Clock Tower.

In a statement, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that this service had begun with the delivery of 50 electric buses and would soon see an increase in that number.

According to the provincial minister, a solar system and two electric charging machines have both been installed in the bus depot for the purpose of charging the buses, reducing their reliance on electricity. The electric bus only needs to be charged once. I’ll be able to travel 240 kilometres.

Sharjeel Memon said that each electric bus will have 32 seats out of which two seats will be reserved for disabled people, 90 people can travel in one bus, and cameras will also be installed in the buses.
