In their last game of the SAFF Women’s Cup on Tuesday, the Pakistani women’s football team trounced the Maldives 7-0 to record their best victory ever and put the competition to rest on a high note.
Nadia Khan became the first Pakistani to ever score four goals in a women’s international football game after scoring four goals for the greens.
Young Rameen Fareed opened the scoring for Pakistan in the 39th minute with a goal from 25 metres, giving the side the lead. In the 48th minute, Khadija Kazmi successfully converted a penalty shot into a goal, doubling Pakistan’s advantage.
Nadia then had the opportunity to showcase her abilities.
With her superb control and exceptional talents, the Pakistani player who is residing in the UK outperformed everyone and scored four goals in a row.
She added goals in the 53rd, 78th, and 84th minutes to complete her hat trick. In the 89th minute, she once more found the back of the net to score her fourth goal.
She became the first Pakistani to ever score four goals in a game, and with this one performance, she joined Malika e Noor and Hajra Khan on the list of Pakistani female players with the most goals scored internationally in a career.
In extra time, Pakistan added one more goal by Anmol Heera to make the final tally 7-0.
With this, Pakistan’s 2022 SAFF Women Cup campaign came to a successful conclusion.
