Adnan Siddiqui asks CM Sindh to help cricket legend Zaheer Abbas with medical bills

Adnan Siddiqui, a Pakistani actor, has pleaded with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to assist famous cricketer Zaheer Abbas, who is being treated for many diseases at a British hospital.

In an Instagram post, Adnan described how CM Shah had commiserated with an actor and given instructions to staff members to make sure the individual received financial help.

"This is a passionate plea to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Syed Murad Ali Shah, who I overheard at the Islamabad airport asking someone to assist an actor who is having financial difficulties. I apologise for accidentally overhearing you, but I was really moved by your care for the industry”, Adnan stated.

In order to assist Pakistan’s former Test captain, who is receiving treatment in the UK, the Mere Pas Tum Ho actor begged CM Sindh to come out in the same spirit.

"I want you to show the same kindness to our batsman Zaheer Abbas, who has spent the last 2.5 months undergoing treatment at Hammersmith Hospital in the UK for pneumonia, renal failure, and liver disease.

"It is painful to see that a player who brought global recognition to the country, famously addressed as Bradman of Asia, has been awarded the prestigious Pride of Pakistan and is a cross-generational inspiration, has not received any support from his home country. I am sure the NHS must be providing necessary aid, him being a red passport holder. That, however, doesn’t absolve us from our duty…”

From 1969 through 1985, Zaheer, commonly known as Asian Bradman, played for Pakistan in 62 ODIs and 78 Tests. He was one of Pakistan’s best cricketers and subsequently was elected president of the ICC.
