ASI Khalid Hussain who made the escape of the prime suspect in the Dua Mangi kidnapping case has now been handed to police on a two-day physical remand.
For the next two days, interrogators will question ASI Hussain over how and why he allowed an under trial prisoner go shopping at Tariq Road.
A case pertaining to the escape of the main accused in the alleged Duna Mangi kidnapping case was heard before the East Judicial Magistrate in Karachi City Court. Police presented the arrested ASI Hussain in court.
The investigation officer said that on the accused’s instructions, head constables Muhammad Naveed and Habib Zafar used to take the accused from the court. ASI Khalid became the complainant in the case to save himself. However, the accused was found involved in the crime during the investigation.
Hussain admitted that Habib Zafar and Muhammad Naveed used to take the accused out of the court every time.
Despite being in-charge, ASI Khalid Hussain never took action against the two officials. The court handed the accused Khalid to the police on a two-day physical remand.
The case of escape of accused Zohaib Qureshi was registered on the state’s complaint.
