The International Air Quality Index has said that the atmosphere in Karachi and Lahore is unhealthy.
The index has recorded pollution in Lahore at 163 and 154 in Karachi.
According to the index, pollution levels between 151 to 200 are harmful to health and 201 to 300 degrees of pollution is extremely harmful to health, while more than 301 degrees indicates dangerous pollution.
According to the Meteorological Department, with the onset of autumn, the direction of the winds changes and due to change in the direction of the winds, the atmosphere becomes hazy. Dry winds blow from the northwest.
