Sindh govt plans vaccination drive for Karachi beggars, minority worship places

The Sindh government has decided to launch a Covid-19 vaccination drive for beggars and minorities’ worship places in Karachi. The decision has been taken to expedite the immunisation process, ARY NEWS reported on Monday.

The health department will set up covid vaccination camps outside Hindu, Christian, Bahahi, Parsi, and other worship places after consultation with their religious leaders. District health officers (DHOs) have been tasked to chalk out a strategy to manage Covid vaccination services outside churches, temples, and community halls.

Furthermore, a different immunisation drive has been started to vaccinate beggars in the city. The provincial government believes that around 70,000 beggars reside on the streets of Karachi.  The health department has decided to use mobile vaccination units for the drive.
