Karachi Traffic Police has launched its first online application to allow people to check their traffic ticket history online. The move has been made keeping in mind the latest trends in the technologically run society and to provide citizens with better information of their fines.
The app makes payment of challans much easier which can be done at shops with UBL OMNI facilities. As stated by one civilian, “the method is bound to reduce bribery as previously people would usually avoid tickets because the payment process was too inconvenient.”
The app provides a record of car registrations, details of road signs, traffic violation rules, and complaints may also be registered via it.
It is likely to provide citizens easy and quick access to records. The complaint portal is also likely to curb illegal activities in the traffic department. Many are glad about this latest development because it gives them a clear knowledge on where their fines are deposited.
The android app has been developed by a private firm for the Traffic Department. According to the police, if the app proves successful, further development will be made and features may be introduced in it.
