Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab issues directives ahead of forecasted rainfall

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has issued a series of directives to relevant departments in anticipation of expected rainfall, as per the forecast provided by the weather department.

In response to the weather forecast, all staff of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Municipal Commission Quarters (MCQ) have been placed on high alert to ensure preparedness for the upcoming rainfall. Mayor Wahab has emphasized the importance of canceling holidays in relevant departments to address any potential challenges arising from inclement weather.

Furthermore, Mayor Wahab stressed the need for cleanliness in drains across the city, directing the concerned authorities to ensure that drains are clear before the onset of rainfall. He also highlighted the importance of cleaning garbage from city dumps and open spaces to prevent any inconvenience to citizens during the rainy season.

Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad echoed Mayor Wahab’s sentiments, emphasizing the responsibility of keeping the city clean and operational. He emphasized the need to cover main holes in the city and ensure that all machinery is operational, with zero tolerance for negligence in this regard.
