In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a special commemorative currency note with a denomination of Rs75. The SBP, established by the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was inaugurated on July 1, 1948.
The front side of the currency note features the portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, symbolizing his significant role in the establishment of the SBP. Despite his illness, Quaid-e-Azam traveled to the port city to attend the inaugural ceremony, underscoring the importance he placed on the central bank’s establishment.
On the back side of the note, the picture of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, representing the womenfolk of Pakistan, is displayed. This inclusion aims to highlight and recognize the vital role of women in the development and progress of the country. Additionally, the note showcases visuals of windmills, symbolizing the importance of renewable energy sources.
The special commemorative currency note has been designed with unique security features to ensure its authenticity and integrity.
During the launching ceremony of this distinctive currency note, SBP Governor Jameel Ahmed emphasized the significance of this day and the issuance of the unique note. He explained that the Rs75 note will be a one-time release to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the State Bank of Pakistan.
This special commemorative currency note serves as a testament to the rich history and achievements of the SBP over the past 75 years. It not only pays tribute to the founding figures of Pakistan but also acknowledges the valuable contributions of women and the importance of sustainable energy in the nation’s progress.
