Pakistani family sets Guinness World Record with nine members sharing the same birthdate

In an extraordinary coincidence, a family from Larkana has entered the Guinness World Records for having nine members who share the same birthdate. Ameer Ali Mangi, his wife Khudeja, and their seven children – Sindhoo, Sasui, Sapna (twin girls), Aamir, Ambar, Ammar, and Ahmar (twin brothers) – were all born on August 1, creating a truly unique family dynamic.

The Mangi family’s remarkable story began on their wedding day in 1991, which also happened to be Ameer and Khudeja’s birthday. Exactly one year later, their eldest daughter was born, marking the start of a series of serendipitous birthdays. Recognizing the rarity of the situation, the family sees their shared birthdate as a "gift from God.”

Their coincident birthdays have earned them three Guinness World Records. First, they hold the record for the most family members born on the same day. Previously, this title was held by the Cummins family from the United States, whose five children were all born on February 20 between 1952 and 1966.

Additionally, the Mangi children hold the record for the most siblings born on the same day. The Guinness World Records confirmed that this was the first verified example of a family producing five children with coincident birthdays. Lastly, as two sets of twins with the same birthdate, Sasui and Sapna, and Ammar and Ahmar, equal the record for the most twin siblings born on the same day.

The family’s celebrations have become even more special since earning their Guinness World Records titles. They now celebrate their birthdays with increased joy and happiness, although they still share a single birthday cake instead of nine individual ones.

Ameer Ali Mangi attributed the extraordinary coincidence to the will of Allah, emphasizing that their shared birthdate was not planned. The family’s unique story serves as a testament to the marvels of life and the bonds that tie them together, making each birthday celebration an unforgettable event for the Mangi family.
