Hajj 2024 to be digitized with mobile app, QR code suitcases for Pakistani pilgrims

Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, has announced the digitization of Hajj 2024, introducing a mobile application and QR code suitcases for the convenience of Pakistani pilgrims. All 90,000 pilgrims from Pakistan will be provided with suitcases containing a QR code that encompasses all their details. The dedicated mobile app will guide pilgrims throughout their journey, offering assistance with or without an internet connection.

Under the supervision of Minister Aneeq Ahmed, the cabinet has approved the Hajj 2024 policy, with a focus on cost-effectiveness. The Hajj package for 2024 is priced at Rs 1,075,000, which is lower than the previous year’s expenses of Rs 1,175,000, aiming to ease the financial burden on pilgrims. The minister highlighted that essential tasks related to Hajj 2024 have been completed ahead of schedule, ensuring a well-organized pilgrimage experience.

Additionally, the ministry is actively negotiating with airlines to secure relief on airfares for pilgrims. If successful, the financial concessions obtained will be directly deposited into the accounts of the Hujjaj, further enhancing the affordability of the pilgrimage.
