In a successful raid in the Lines area of Karachi, the police have apprehended five individuals allegedly involved in a bike theft gang operating in the city. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Bahadur, the arrested individuals were engaged in selling parts of motorcycles snatched from citizens in Karachi.
The SSP claimed that all the arrested suspects were habitual criminals and members of a well-established bike theft gang. During the operation, the police also recovered parts of three motorcycles from the possession of the accused criminals.
This recent development comes as part of the Karachi police’s ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities, particularly those related to motorcycle theft. In a previous operation, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) dismantled an interprovincial gang involved in stealing and snatching motorbikes from different areas of Karachi and selling them in Balochistan.
SSP Tariq Nawaz highlighted that the five-member gang was apprehended in Karachi, and their operations involved traveling to the city for stealing motorcycles. The stolen and snatched bikes were then sold in Sakran, Balochistan. Several stolen motorcycles were successfully recovered during this operation.
The Karachi police continue to take proactive measures to address the issue of vehicle theft, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to ensure the safety and security of citizens in the metropolis.
