Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed the ongoing Pakistan-India dispute over Champions Trophy 2025, stating that he would not let the nation down.
Speaking to media on Saturday, Mohsin Naqvi asserted that the final decision rests with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
“The ICC will make the final call. At this time, I do not want to comment on conditions or escalate matters,” Naqvi remarked, stressing Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in resolving the issue.
The dispute arose following India’s refusal to cross border and play matches in Pakistan, while suggested a hybrid model, under which India’s Champions Trophy matches could be held at a neutral venue.
Meanwhile, the PCB has expressed willingness to accept the model but insists on applying the same approach to future ICC events hosted in India.
Earlier in the day, the ICC postponed a scheduled board meeting on the matter due to a lack of response from the Indian board.
This delay further complicates the resolution of the dispute, leaving the schedule of the Champions Trophy hanging.
A day earlier, the Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, was notably absent from the ICC board gathering during Shah’s visit to Headquarters in Dubai.
According to the PCB source, the International Cricket Council (ICC) rescheduled its board meeting to December 07, leaving unresolved tensions between member boards.
According to media reports, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi traveled to Dubai for the meeting, which is expected to melt the ice between the PCB and BCCI, however, the meeting did not take place as planned.
