Karachi’s National Bank Stadium nears completion: PCB

Preparations at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi are in their final stages as Pakistan ready to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that 95 percent of the renovation work has been completed, with completion deadline is set for December 31.

Speaking to the media, Advisor to PCB Chairman Aamir Mir and Director Infrastructure Jawwad Qazi provided the detail review of the progress.

The upgradation project is being conducted in two phases. The first phase, set to be completed before the tournament, focuses on the main building, journal enclosures, and player facilities. The second phase, to follow the Champions Trophy, will revamp all enclosures in a modern style.

The stadium’s enhancements include the construction of a Ground Plus 3 building, upgraded hospitality boxes, replacement of floodlights, and installation of chairs in journal enclosures. Two digital screens are also being installed to elevate the viewing experience.

Mir emphasized the importance of bringing Pakistan’s stadiums to international standards, with similar upgrades underway at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. He reassured that Karachi’s preparations would be finalized before the year-end deadline.

These developments are vital to ensuring Pakistan delivers a world-class experience during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
