322 Karachiites lost lives resisting robberies this year until now

The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) released its report on street crimes committed in the first 10 months of year 2020 across Karachi.

According to the data compiled by the crime monitor, about 322 people lost their lives to robberies as they resisted the bid.

More than 30,000 motorcycles, according to the statistics, were either snatched or stolen, out of which the police could help recover only 1,845.

Some 18,000 cellphones were snatched from Karachiites over the January-October span while 1,855 were also reportedly recovered and handed over to their owners.

About 1,300 four-wheel vehicles (mostly cars) were either snatched or stolen from the port city in this span of the current year against which the police recovered 281 vehicles.

The year up to this point meant seventeen money extortion cases, two kidnappings for ransom, and one bank dacoity for the Karachiites, the report noted.
