funds federations DG-PSB

The Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, stated that sports federations that provide clear and transparent accountability will continue to receive funding in the future.

Pirzada was in Karachi for a detailed inspection of the PSB Center, where he also confirmed the successful completion of dope tests for 150 Pakistani athletes under the guidance of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

During his visit, he also discussed concerns raised by the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding the recent PHF elections.

Pirzada clarified that the PSB does not recognize Olympian Rana Mujahid as the Secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).

He emphasized the importance of accountability in sports management, stating that in many countries, corruption leads to imprisonment.

He reiterated that the PSB is committed to holding federations accountable, and only those that demonstrate clear accountability will receive funding in the future.

During his visit to the National Coaching Center in Karachi, Pirzada reviewed the ongoing construction of various projects, including plans for an administrative block, hostel, gymnasium, and swimming pool.

He highlighted that the 24-acre center has the potential to provide numerous sports facilities and generate substantial revenue for the PSB Karachi Division.

Pirzada welcomed proposals for running academies at the center and announced that the PSB is open to collaboration on future projects.
