A clash between two student groups at the Maulvi Abdul Haq campus of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) in Karachi resulted in injuries to at least two professors.

The altercation between the student groups escalated into violence, with students using chairs, iron rods, and other objects to attack each other.

During the clash, two professors from the Urdu Department, identified as Professor Rani Aram and Professor Haider Abbas, sustained injuries and were taken to Karachi Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Prof. Abbas suffered head injuries, while Prof. Rani Aram injured her hand.

The commotion at the Urdu University continued until police mobiles arrived at the scene. The police took action and detained more than 22 students involved in the violence.

As a precautionary measure, the university administration has decided to close the educational institution for two days to prevent any further untoward incidents.
